The Fira Rizhomes

The rhizome is an underground stem that grows horizontally in relation to the surface of the soil and has the capacity to produce new shoots and roots from its nodes. Thus, from a node, an artistic project in the Fira's programme, the public will be able to discover individuals from folk culture through shoots and roots in the form of parallel activities such as exhibitions, conferences and/or symposia.

The exhibition centres on one of the most prolific collaborators of the Obra del Cançoner Popular de Catalunya.

The Joan Tomàs Rizhome

Official opening of the exhibition on 8 October at 7 p.m., in Space 7 of the Centre Cultural El Casino.

The exhibition takes a journey through the many areas in which Joan Tomàs excelled, bringing to light his persona, work and prowess.

Returning the songs to the people
A talk by Liliana Tomàs i Roch, curator of the Year of Joan Tomàs and also his granddaughter.
The Master Juan Tomàs Parés at the Obra del Cançoner Popular de Catalunya.

Getting to know the people who have made Catalan roots dance their passion and obsession allows us to unravel the past, tighten our bonds and strengthen our ties.

Exposició “Vestits per ballar. 50 anys d’indumentària d’un esbart” de l’Esbart Sant Jordi

La mostra parla sobre la indumentària dels esbarts, mitjançant la col·lecció de 44 nines vestides amb conjunts de diferents balls que l’Esbart Sant Jordi conserva.

Exhibition Dressed to dance. 50 years of the costumes of an esbart by Esbart Sant Jordi

The exhibition presents the costumes worn by the esbarts through a collection of 44 dolls dressed in outfits from different dances that the Esbart Sant Jordi has preserved.

L’última Bruixa is a fictional series based on Catalan legends. It is made up of 10 episodes in podcast format. The protagonist is a woman who must constantly travel through space-time to escape a witch hunter.
