Last year, this item, led by Joana Gumí and Ned Somerville and centred on the old-time style traditional in the Appalachians, won the ‘Sounds of the Mediterranean’ competition. Their aim is to disseminate this agitated style of music and its dances, with traditional versions of songs as well as themes of their own, with lyrics in Catalan and a more modern, Mediterranean sonority.
