Toni Casassas

A stripped-down, austere representation of roots songs from the Catalan countries, in which the voice, the singing, intersects with other voices and roots songs from around the world, especially those associated with arabesque melismas and Mongolian or Sardinian harmonics. Set in a true chiaroscuro, Casassas will unfurl a whole sonic web capable of covering and ensnaring the listener with his voice alone.
