Ali Doğan Gönültaş

For ten years, Istanbul-based Anatolian artist Ali Doğan Gönültaş has been conducting research work in his homeland and its area of influence, with the original motive of investigating the oral tradition which then evolved into a work of musical memory. The result is captured in the magnificent debut album Kiğı, in which the emotion of his soulful voice pervades the dreamlike melodies of the songs.
